Low Risk Thrills That Won’t Cost You a Fortune…

Join us for the most affordable motorsport competition! Unlike other forms of racing that rely on high speeds, autocross emphasizes precision steering and braking, simply complete the course as quickly as possible without hitting any cones! Our events are open to all cars and all levels of drivers, from everyday street vehicles to high-performance sports cars. Events are held on closed courses with no other vehicles running simultaneously and the best part, no modifications are necessary for you to compete! It’s an easy way to improve your driving skills, without the high cost or risk. We hold several autocross events each year, including a an exclusive driving school. Autocross, autocross schools, and the Car Control Clinic are open to all BMW CCA members over the age of 16 with a valid driver’s license (note, due to liability reasons we are unable to allow drivers with a learner’s permit). The cost to participate is $60 per driver per event.

Autocross Series

By participating in an event, you are eligible to earn a trophy depending on your placement in your class. In addition, the points that you score in each event count toward the season championship. You will get both runs in the morning as well as the afternoon. The morning runs will allow you to get familiar with the course and to practice performance driving and autocross skills. After lunch, we will have the competition runs for event trophies.

Car Number Guidelines

Car numbers and class letters must be displayed on both sides of the vehicle and must be easy to read from at least 75 feet away. Numbers must be at least 8 inches high, and class letters must be at least 4 inches high, using a clear, standard font. The numbers and letters should strongly contrast with the color of the car so they are easy for course workers to see while the vehicle is on course. White or black is preferred, but high contrast is the most important requirement.

Both magnetic and vinyl numbers are acceptable. If you do not already have numbers and class letters, paper versions will be available at registration check-in and should be taped in the approved locations on your vehicle during the event. If you plan to attend more than one event each year, magnetic numbers are strongly recommended. They are usually affordable through a local sign or graphics shop and help reduce printing costs for the club. It is also a good idea to order an extra pair of “1”s in case you ever share the car with a co-driver.

Class letters should appear before the numbers, and the image below shows the approved placement areas on the door and rear quarter window.
