2024 Ice Gymkhana – Day 1

Winter is once again upon us! For many, this means a trip to the mountains. A few within the RMC BMW CCA couldn’t be more elated for the arrival of snow, ice and winds as it means we once again have the pleasure of sliding around on the infamous Georgetown Lake!

The lake is reserved for two days with participants trying their hand at navigating through the autocross-style course set atop the frozen ice reservoir at just over 8,500 feet. For drivers of all ages and experience, this is a great time to enhance winter driving skills and the limits of your vehicle. There will be a skid pad, and a timed gymkhana course.

The start time for the event is 8:30 am, with the required drivers meeting at 9:00 am. A practice session will follow in the morning followed with timed sessions starting at noon. Registration will open 1/14/2024 at 7:00 PM and will close on 2/9/2024 at 7:00 pm with a limit of 25 drivers per day. if the event is full, we recommend you place yourself on the waitlist. There are NO WALK-ONS for the event.

Pre-registration must be completed by February 9, 2024. A $15 NON-REFUNDABLE CHARGE WILL BE ACTIVATED IF THE EVENT IS CANCELLED. This chapter-member shared charge covers the upfront permit and insurance fees for the lake rental regardless if the event takes place or not.
