Helmet Tech Social at Cars & Coffee in Lafayette
Join us at the Adam’s Polishes Cars & Coffee in Layfayette on Saturday, April 6 for our first Helmet Tech Social of 2024. Stop by or stay awhile to have your helmet tech’d or just meet fellow club members for a conversation. We’ll be on site from 7:00am – 10:00am to check that your helmet meets our minimum safety requirements. Look for us near the Liquid Molly Vehicle.
* In order to qualify to be worn during our Autocross and Drivings Schools, your helmet must meet minimum safety requirements. All helmets must have a Snell foundation 2015 or newer certification sticker. Either the Snell auto racing (SA) or motorcycle (M) certification are acceptable. Current SFI 31.1 and FIA 8860 certifications are also acceptable. New SNELL- and DOT-rated helmets are released every five years and are valid within our motorsports organization for 10 years. This means helmets with a 2015 production date are valid thru 2025, and those from 2020 are valid thru 2030. When the new 2025 helmets come out next year, you guessed it, they’ll be valid through 2035.
