Left Hand Reservoir Off-Road Tour

Route
Nelson Rd & Hwy 36 – Left Hand Reservoir – Nelson Rd & Hwy 36
This is a 5-hour off-road tour, intended for high-clearance vehicles including BMW SAVs. We will drive towards Brainard Lake on paved Roads. Before the reservoir, there are about 2 miles of rough road, high-clearance 4WD/AWD recommended. This is considered a mild 4WD route, drivable by stock Subarus. Enjoy spectacular views of the Indian Peaks with LeftHand reservoir in the foreground. Non-Motorized watercraft are allowed. There are no restrooms at the reservoir. There are restrooms at winter parking for Brainard Lake (before the start of 4WD). The registration limit is 12 vehicles.
On the return leg, There are about 3 miles of smooth dirt on Overland Road.
This driving event is held on public roads. Individuals participating must observe and abide by all traffic laws at all times

Starting Point
Parking area beside Nelson Road, east of US 36 at 8:45 am
Event Schedule
- 8:45 – Arrive at roadside parking on Nelson Road near US Highway 36
- 9:15-10:15 – 23-mile drive to Left Hand Reservoir via Ward [Google Maps Link].
- 10:15-12:45 – 2.5 hours at the reservoir – explore and picnic lunch. Option to break off and spend more time at the reservoir
- 12:45-1:45 – 25-mile drive back via Overland Road and Jamestown [Google Maps Link]

This a FREE event but does require registration on MotorSportReg.
Registration is limited to 12 cars. Walk-up registration is not allowed for this event.
Highway legal vehicles are welcome; no make or model restrictions. High Clearance 4WD/AWD recommended
